In honor of this BIG thankful day I re-post part of last year.
In with the new …
Since Thanksgiving of 2012, there have been changes in my life that I truly cherish. One major change is my new on-line shop which provides an outlet for my crafting passions and the opportunity to meet another great group of creative and talented folks … both the buyers and the sellers on-line are truly amazing.
- Thanks to Etsy for its wonderful opportunities and the thousands of talented artists and crafts-persons.
- Thanks to my writing buddies, my critique partners and all of you who keep me inspired and determined.
- And thanks to the powers-that-be for giving me another year in this beautiful little slice of heaven, another year to remind myself every day how truly blessed I’ve been to come to this time of my life and have so much more than I thought possible.
Partial reprint from last year …
Thanks to my family, all of the collective pieces of them from the original, to the kids to those families of friends who have made being away from my other families more tolerable.
Thanks for the various means by which I was educated, from the crazy nuns to the crazier professors in college, to the gifted librarians and their amazing knowledge of books to those patient folks who have taken their valuable time to read me and teach me how to be better.
Every day I am thankful for food and shelter, and the luck of biology and geography. Biology gave me my looks, my health, my brain power and my winning smile. Geography put me in Brooklyn with a smart mouth and not in a third world country where I might already be dead from talking back to the wrong person.
To our Canadian friends … a hearty belated thanks.
No matter where you are or however you celebrate this time of year, be thankful for time. The greatest riches you will ever know … time. Time to do more and be more. Time to try again. Time to learn. Time to work it out before you run out of time.
Have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving.
And, I’m always thankful for our friendship Florence. May blessings flow into the coming year.

Happy Thanksgiving, Florence. I, too, am thankful for teachers, conventional, and the people who cross my path anywhere, at any time, and leave a little lesson in their wake.

Hey, Laura … don’t give away my soft underbelly π I can’t help it if I am hard and soft, brave and frightened and all the contradictions that make me the funny gal I am. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this season than with those who have lite the way for me. Thanks to you as well my good friend π

I am thankful for our virtual friendship and the good words you post at our blog. Also that we didn’t get the 7 inches of snow predicted for today.

Ditto to what Lindsay said: I am thankful for my virtual friendship with many people I’ve met online. Without you and many others, this writing life would be more scary than it already is.

You are so right, Patti … how on earth would we do this every day, of every week, of every month, without those to support and encourage us in the writer’s community?? I for one would be lost. Happy Thanksgiving π
