So long for a while …

Yes, it is that time of year when I take one of my blog breaks.

Time to kick back and enjoy the moment,

catch up with a zillion things or maybe do nothing at all.

Bask in the warmth of the summer sun and enjoy some summer fun.

    • How great is that, Laura !!! So glad you have that view, it’s spectacular at night isn’t it? Give my regards to Broadway … to Fae … and to all those attending that we both know and love 🙂

Above all enjoy the conference and my beloved City 🙂

  2. I am heading back to Chautauqua for long weekend and to Baltimore to see dear friends. It is refreshing to step away from the computer, isn’t it? Have a great time living life in the summertime.

    • Fantastic, Vicki … my thoughts will be with you as you spend the day in our fav museum and stroll through the sidewalks of New York.

  4. Hi Florence! I am so excited that the family we love to rent from — but haven’t been able to for many years — finally changed their minds about allowing dogs so we can now return!!! To the beautiful home we used to rent on the Russian River in the very small town of Monte Rio. If there’s any water in the river at all (due to our severe California drought) we’ll be able to swim and/or kayak and take bike rides and walk around. I can’t wait. The house is huge so we won’t feel like we’re living on top of each other, plenty of places to hide and be quiet. I am so looking forward to it.

    • Patti, that is such wonderful news. It sounds delightful. I do hope that once you are all settled that you will consider doing a blog post with lots of pictures. Also post pics on FB.

We all know how much I love NYC … but I am honestly living in my dream cottage now and I understand the feeling. Some places are just us.

Smooth sailing with your move and thanks for sharing 🙂

Enjoy your time off, Florence. I desperately need a vacation, too, but I’m not sure I’m going to get it.

    • You do indeed need some “you” time, Anne. If you don’t actually get to close up shop, try to find the time you need to heal and get better. AND PLEASE do us the honor of blogging about your wonderful little corner of the world. I would so much love to know more about it. The photos you post on FB wet my appetite for more 🙂

  7. I have my head down writing, Florence, so no break currently planned. Probably in the fall. Enjoy your vacation!

  8. So glad I caught you before summer vacation officially begins [I think]. I wish you relaxation, lots of time to read, be with your friends, contemplate, and simply enjoy being alive. I often wonder if the latter isn’t more important than we give it credit.

What a great service you provided for your fellow friends and authors in the big apple with your ins and outs of the city. We received a blow yesterday that seems to put all of Tom’s travel ideas on hold for a good long time and perhaps indefinitely and since I’ll be 70 on my next birthday, it’s time for me to do some of the things I still can before, well, I can’t do them any longer.

I’ve never thought that way before. You know, doing things without Tom beside me to share the experience. But, I’m no longer content to end my life with regrets of not having lived out some of my dreams and aspirations. Does this seem terribly cruel to you? I’m really struggling with the idea of could I actually have a good time if I knew Tom were home sick and I were out and about.

Oh, dear, you aren’t my therapist. Be off with you to have gaiety on your summer break. It is indeed a much deserved holiday. Loads of love to you, my friend.

  9. Enjoy your break, Florence. Summer is the time to enjoy ourselves, and we all need a little time off.

I have no specially plans, only if I count the arrival of our grand babies in September. I guess that’s exciting enough for me. 🙂
